Week 17 2016 CSA


Red Butterhead Lettuce

Produce for this Third week of October 15th through the 21st 2016

Red Butterhead lettuce,  Tomatillos,  Cilantro,  Hot Pepper,  Romaine Lettuce,  Bok Choy,  Rainbow Chard,  Arugula


Beautiful Autumn on the Farm!

Tomatillo Salsa Verde

1 pint tomatillos, husked, rinsed and chopped

1 bunch fresh cilantro, chopped

1 hot pepper, seeds removed, chopped

1 tsp minced garlic

2 Tbsp chopped onion

Tomatillos will remain sticky feeling even after washed.  This is normal.  Chop all ingredients or run through a food processor or blender.  Cover and refrigerate for at least one hour.  Serve with chips or along side chicken or pork.  It also goes great with eggs!

Our Favorite Arugula Salad

Wash arugula and chop, stems and all.  Meanwhile roast 1/2 cup walnuts in oven until golden.  Cool.  Chop one pear.  Place arugula and pear in a bowl.  Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.  Sprinkle with sea salt and roasted walnuts.  Toss and enjoy!  You may also try this salad with dried cranberries or fresh apples instead of the pear.

  1. Absolutely love this farm. Going to make the tomatillo salsa this week for my scrapbooking party. I haven’t tried since last year so hoping it comes out great!! Lovin’ all the cool recipes!!!
